Amka Safaris was built by people who grew up near the parks we now guide travellers through. We know the roads, the rangers and the rhythms of each season, because this has always been home.
We plan a small number of trips at a time, so every itinerary gets proper attention rather than being assembled from a template.
Amka Safaris began with a simple observation: too many safari bookings are handled by people who have never set foot in Bwindi or driven the road to Kibale. We wanted something more grounded, run by a team that lives with these landscapes rather than simply sells them.
Every itinerary we put together starts with a conversation, not a package. We ask what draws someone to Uganda, how much time they have and what pace suits them, then we build around those answers using operators and guides we trust personally.
That approach takes longer than picking from a shelf of fixed tours. We think the extra care shows in the detail — a permit booked at the right time, a lodge chosen for its location rather than its brochure, a guide who explains what you are actually looking at.
We would rather plan one trip well than ten trips adequately.
