Uganda sits near the equator, so temperatures stay fairly stable year round, with rainfall varying more than heat. Two drier stretches generally make trekking easier, though rain can fall at any time, especially in forested areas.

Most itineraries move by road in a private vehicle with a driver-guide, with some routes covered by short domestic flights to save time. Road conditions vary, and journeys between parks can take longer than the distance alone suggests.

Mobile coverage is reasonably good in towns and along main routes, with a local SIM an easy way to stay connected. Coverage thins out in remote park areas, so expect some stretches of your trip to be offline.
