Gorilla permits are limited and often sell out months ahead, particularly in the June to September and December to February high seasons. We recommend booking three to six months in advance where possible, though we can sometimes secure permits closer to your travel date depending on availability.

Yes. We regularly plan itineraries for solo travellers and can either build a private trip around your schedule or, where it suits, place you with a small group to help manage costs such as vehicle hire.

Uganda can be visited year round. The drier months generally make trekking and road travel more comfortable, while the wetter months bring lush scenery and fewer crowds. We can talk through the trade-offs for the parks you are most interested in.

Trekking difficulty varies by terrain and how far the gorilla group has moved that day, and can range from a gentle walk to several hours over steep, uneven ground. A reasonable level of fitness helps, and porters are available to assist with the climb.

We can point you toward current visa and entry information, but requirements do change, so we always advise confirming details directly with the relevant embassy or official government portal before you travel.

Most of our itineraries are built as complete packages covering accommodation, ground transport and park fees, with flights arranged separately. We are happy to adjust the balance if you prefer to organise certain elements yourself.

Sturdy, worn-in walking boots, layered clothing, a waterproof jacket and gardening-style gloves are the essentials, along with insect repellent and a hat. We send a fuller packing note once your trip is confirmed.
