Entebbe to Lake Mburo

An eight-day route built around activities that work well for younger travellers: boat safaris, gentle walks and a chimpanzee trek rather than the more demanding gorilla trek, which carries a minimum age limit of fifteen.

The drive south passes crater lakes and tea estates before reaching Queen Elizabeth National Park, where an afternoon game drive covers open grassland grazed by buffalo, kob and elephant.
A relaxed launch trip along the Kazinga Channel brings the day’s wildlife viewing to water level, with hippo, crocodile and buffalo gathered along the banks and elephant frequently seen coming down to drink.
A day with no fixed itinerary, left open for a second game drive, a swim at the lodge, or simply time to rest, depending on what the family feels like after a week on the road.
The drive back to Entebbe retraces the route north, with a stop at the equator crossing for photographs before arrival in time for onward travel.
