Entebbe to Murchison Falls
The drive north passes Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where a walking safari brings close views of white rhino on foot, before continuing on to Murchison Falls National Park in the late afternoon.
Fifteen days is enough time to see most of what Uganda offers without rushing: Murchison’s Nile, Kibale’s chimpanzees, several days on foot in the Rwenzori foothills, Queen Elizabeth’s channel, and gorilla trekking in Bwindi, finishing with golden monkeys and a lake.
The Rwenzori section uses day hikes from lodges on the lower slopes rather than a full summit attempt, so no technical climbing experience or specialist gear is required.

A launch trip to the base of the Falls, where the Nile forces itself through a narrow rock gap, is paired with an optional dawn balloon flight and a morning chimpanzee trek in the neighbouring Budongo Forest Reserve.
The drive south crosses the Albertine escarpment to Kibale Forest, where the following morning is spent tracking one of the park’s habituated chimpanzee communities through dense, high-canopy forest.
A transfer to the base of the Rwenzori Mountains is followed by two days of guided day hikes through the range’s lower slopes, past waterfalls, bamboo zones and highland trails, without the technical demands of a summit attempt.
The road south reaches Queen Elizabeth National Park, where a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel and a game drive through the Ishasha sector, known for tree-climbing lions, cover the park’s range of habitats.
The drive into Bwindi’s forested hills is followed by a guided trek to a habituated gorilla family, with an hour spent in their company once located.
A morning golden monkey trek through Mgahinga’s bamboo forest precedes the drive to Lake Bunyonyi, where the final full day is left open for a canoe trip across its terraced shoreline.
A flight from Kihihi or a drive north returns you towards Entebbe, bringing a route that spanned savannah, forest, mountain and lake to a close.
